Health insurance is a lot like the insurance people have to protect their car or home. Some people get health insurance through their jobs, and some buy it themselves. Without insurance, high medical bills can sometimes wipe out savings and even lead to bankruptcy. Insurance helps protect you financially if you have a serious illness or injury that requires extensive care.
Each month, you pay a premium to your insurance company or health plan to provide you with health care coverage.
When you need care (such as doctor visits, hospital care, and medications), your insurance company or health plan may help you pay for it.
For example, let's say a visit to the doctor costs $100. Instead of having to pay all of it by yourself, you may have to pay only $20. Your insurance company or health plan will pay the other $80.
There are lots of advantages to having health care coverage. Here are just a few of the big ones.
Peace of mind. Life is unpredictable, but when you have health coverage, you have more control, and you can rest easy knowing that you have coverage for the care you need.
Care when you need it. You can see a doctor when you're sick or just need preventive care. You don't need to ignore symptoms or hope they'll go away. You can get treated before things get worse.
Stay on a healthy path. Preventive care helps you catch minor symptoms before they become problems. Screenings, like mammograms and cholesterol level tests, can catch problems early – when they're easier to treat.
What is health care reform?
The term “health care reform” refers to the federal Affordable Care Act (ACA), and any state laws passed to put it in place. It's designed to help more people get affordable health care coverage and receive better medical care..

Hesperia Animal Hospital moved to this new location in January 1995. The two story building is an architectural delight, beautiful and spacious. The waiting area is open extremely, extremely roomy, which helps avoid unfriendly confrontation between some pets. There are at least two friendly receptionists at the counter to help clients. While waiting, pet owners can view educational video programs, browse through cat and dog magazines, weigh their dogs on a conveniently located and easy to read scale, or visit the pet shop. Skylights, high ceilings, and plants add to the scenic atmosphere of the waiting lobby.
Dr. Shafeeq Ahmed, the owner, originally from India, came to the United States to study veterinary medicine. He has been practicing in Hesperia for the last 14 years. Dr. Ahmed and his efficient staff provide top quality veterinary services for dogs and cats.
Hesperia Animal Hospital is a self-sufficient animal care center, which offers complete dentistry and dental X-rays, a full lab, treatment areas, latest X-ray equipment, and a large surgery room, which is fitted with the latest and most advanced surgical equipment. The hospital is in the process of obtaining CT Scan. The exhaust system in the work areas keeps the air clean, safe, and odor free. A centrally placed glass walled intensive care sector allows the doctor and staff to keep an eye on severely ill or recuperating pets.
There are 4 spacious, clean and odor free exam rooms. Recuperating pets are boarded in rooms, dog runs, or cat kennels. The boarding areas have been designed to maintain a high level of hygiene. Pets suffering from communicable diseases like PARVO are housed in the contagious ward.
The pet shop is located next to the waiting lobby. Pet lovers can purchase almost anything that a pet may need. Books on various cat and dog breeds, instructions on dog training, leashes, shampoos, toothpaste and brush, grooming aids, and of course top quality food supplies designed to fit the special dietary requirements of your cat or dog are all sold in the pet shop.
The boarding and grooming facilities are lodged on the second floor. There are 40 dog runs, varying in size to provide a comfortable home for a Chihuahua or a big St. Bernard. The cat condos are completely separate from the dog runs. The deluxe cat condos can house more than one cat and has a window which offers a view of the outside world. The boarding section has high ceilings, skylights, and plants, which help avoid the cramped atmosphere of most animal boarding places. All dogs are taken out for a walk at least twice a day. There is also a treadmill (specially equipped with safety features) for indoor exercises. Pet owners can view the boarding area through a glass wall.
At lease two attendants are constantly watching, cleaning, feeding, and exercising the boarding pets. Access to the second floor boarding facility is provided with two staircases and an elevator.
The hospital provides quality grooming services. We have experienced and qualified groomers in the hospital. While you are here, you can meet the groomer and setup an appointment.
All rooms including boarding areas are fitted with video monitors for surveillance, thus helping the staff to keep a constant watch on all pets. The parking lot is also monitored for the safety of clients.
Pet owners who, due to financial restraints, would otherwise be unable to provide maximum care for their pets are offered low cost services on every Thursday at Hesperia Animal Hospital . Spaying and neutering surgeries are done almost free with a minimum charge for anesthetic cost. Low cost vaccinations are also available Thursdays.
The office hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday.
An emergency answering service allows pet owners to reach the doctor after office hours. For more information please call 760-948-1553. The staff will gladly give you a tour of the hospital and boarding facility.
